MORBUS MENIERE

IN FACT: WHAT IS MORBUS MENIERE?

Meniere's disease is the best-known representative of a group of diseases in which an impairment of the endolymph space in the human inner ear can be observed. Other names for endolymphatic disorders are: Menière's syndrome Fluctuating hearing, Lermoyez syndrome and Endolymphydrops. 

Until now, the related terms have said little about the causes and processes of these diseases.

Recently, the disorders have been summarized under the term degenerative vestibulo-cochlear disorders (DVCD).

The causes of the DVCD & Endolymp interference are to be considered:

  • Immunological disorders (allergies, intolerances) that cause a reaction in the endolymph system. 
    Malfunction in nerval tissues, causing headaches and reduced circulation in oxygen supplying arteries.
     

  • Changes in the blood supply due to vascular anomalies and vascular spasms (vestibulo-cochlear migraine).

  • Disturbances of the metabolic balance in the endolymphor organ due to hereditary, anatomical or traumatic factors.

  • Hereditary diseases of the head and neck affecting the endolymphoric organ.
     

  • Disturbances of the head and jaw joints, as well as spinal diseases of the neck, chest or back, which worsen the vegetative nerve supply in the endolymphoric organ. 
     

  • Mental impairment due to external stress situations or internal conflict potential.
     

  • Toxic environmental stress or, for example, dental materials that have a direct effect on the metabolism of the endolymphoric organ.
